Assignment: In groups of four, please research one of the following topics:
1) Mrs. Dalloway as a feminist text
2) Mrs. Dalloway and modernism
3) Mrs. Dalloway and post war psychology
Create a presentation (powerpoint, chart paper, video, slideshow, or “create your own” but it must be authorized)
Your presentation must address the following:
1. Define your topic (i.e. what is feminism, modernity or post-war psychology)
2. How does this topic play out in the time period that Woolf was writing in (other authors, politics, art, etc).
3. Based on textual evidence from the novel, what is Woolf’s point of view of the topic?
4. Has Woolf made any other commentary on this topic outside of the novel? Present some of these connections.
This presentation will be given on Monday May 9th. Each student will be graded twice: once for your individual role in the group and once as a group grade.
